Neutrals the world over will relish the prospect of Toulouse and La Rochelle invading Cardiff at season’s end for the seventh all-French final of Europe’s blue riband trophy.
They will relish it all the more because during a bad weekend for the Champions’ Cup, the super-heavyweights from across The Channel showed how much they care for a tournament when others left the impression that they couldn’t have cared less.
