Thursday night, the Super Rygbi Cymru lights up once again as the Carmarthen Quins prepare to host Aberavon RFC.

After a brief hiatus due to weather, the competition is back, and both teams are eager to climb from the bottom of the table as the competition intensifies.

The stage is set for a crucial match-up in West Wales, with numerous exciting betting options to consider.

Carmarthen Quins RFC

The Quins have had an up-and-down start to the season, as they currently sit sixth in the competition.

Throughout nine games, Carmarthen have won four and lost five, highlighting their inconsistent form. The team will seek a better result than last time out, after they travelled to Newport and were bested by the home side.

However, the week before, Carmarthen secured a solid win against Bridgend Ravens, dispatching the home side at the Brewery Field.

They scored electrifying tries on a freezing Friday night in Bridgend. From a statistical perspective, the Quins’ numbers could have been better.

As a squad, they concede more points than they manage to score.

On average, they put 24 points on the board but allow the opposition to score 31. So far this season, they have crossed the white line 27 times, which works out to be three per game.

Talent is abundant in their squad. One name that comes to mind is Aled Thomas, an experienced out-half who knows how to get his backline moving in the right direction.

On the wing, Louis Rees has a real nose for the try line and will be looking to add to his scoring tally over the coming weeks.

Carwyn Tuipulotu will be hoping to make an impact in the back row and use his physical presence to steer Carmarthen to success. Carmarthen have all the tools to succeed; now, it’s all about consistently putting results together.

Aberavon RFC

Aberavon head west, sitting second to last in the table. The Port Talbot-based side will be looking to dig themselves out of a pretty big hole.

It is important to remember that they have only played seven matches, being victorious in two and tasting defeat in five.

The Wizards will be looking to build on the momentum they gained from their win over RGC.

Breaking down the numbers, they score 23 points per game and give up 27. They aim to add to their try tally of 23 and secure an away win in the weekend opener.

Certain players will be crucial to turning Aberavon’s season around. Rhys Thomas is the first name that comes to mind.

He is known for his relentless defending and his prowess around the breakdown. In the centre, Joe Gage will be looking to cause headaches for the opposing backlines around the league.

Anchoring the pack is lock Lewis Marsh, whose towering presence can be felt every time he steps on the field. Aberavon’s squad has enough talent to achieve strong results.

The Bets

It is an exciting encounter that will hopefully build momentum for the rest of the season. This leaves the door open for a couple of promising betting opportunities.

The best bet is for Carmarthen to secure the victory as, on paper, they look to be performing better, and with home advantage, they should feel confident in their ability to get the job done.

You will also find value going off the handicaps, as there will be a decent return on Carmarthen to win by more than seven points.

Best Bet: Carmarthen Quins to win – 2/5
Value Bet: Carmarthen to win by more than seven points – 10/11
