Mounting calls for RFU chiefs to quit

Calls for Bill Sweeney, the RFU chief executive, and Tom Ilube, the RFU Board chairman, to resign or face a vote of no confidence have reached storm-force level following the Championship issuing a collective statement asking for an SGM.
This follows a letter being sent to RFU president, Rob Udwin, on Saturday morning on behalf of the leaders of the Championship clubs, asking him “to convene a Special General Meeting of the union to hold a debate on a vote of no-confidence” in Ilube and Sweeney.
