HARRY Plummer’s imminent transfer from the Blues in Auckland to the Michelin Men of Clermont Auvergne may well leave him with one of the briefest careers as an All Black.
At 26 the ringmaster of the Blues’ Super Rugby triumph clearly sees it as a risk well worth taking given the money sloshing around in the Top 14.
By giving him the last five minutes against Australia in Sydney two months ago, the All Blacks eliminated any danger of genealogists in the home countries discovering an ancestral justification for wrapping him up in a white, blue, green or red jersey.
