Ireland coach Andy Farrell made no excuses and admitted New Zealand deserved to win and urged his side to dig deep and improve to beat the resurgent Argentinians next weekend.
“There’s no excuses for us,” he said.
“You can talk about all sorts of stuff, rustiness, game-time – there’s no excuse.
"The opposition, long story short, deserved to win.
“I thought we’d prepared well, trained well, everyone was excited about the game but we didn’t manage to put our game out on the field.
