YEARS of planning and preparation yielded dividend on and off the pitch for England Touch this summer, as not only did the association deliver the biggest and best Touch Rugby World Cup in the history of the sport, but also won more medals than at all of the previous nine World Cups combined.
Nearly 190 teams from 39 nations descended on Nottingham for a week of action in July. To put the event into perspective, the near-4,000 athletes is more than have competed at any Winter Olympics and is on a par with the number of competitors at the Paralympics.
