NEW Zealand cruised through their pool with big wins over China (435), Canada (33-7), and Fiji (38-7).
Michaela Blyde scored four tries in the opening win over China with Stacey Waaka grabbing a double and one from Sarah Hirini.
Jorja Miller scored a brace in the first half against Canada, Risi Pouri-Lane getting another to give them a 19-7 lead at the break. Two more from Jazmin Felix-Hotham and Portia Woodman-Wickliffe sent them into day two with a spring in their step.
