ONE of the stars of the U20 World Championship, Argentinian full-back Benjamin Elizalde, has joined Premiership side Bristol Bears.
The 19-year-old, who can also play wing and centre, is a prolific goal kicker and was a key cog in Los Pumas' U20 side that finished fifth in the Junior World Cup.
The 6ft 2in, 93kg playmaker joins from Deportiva Francesa and has also represented Argentina XV.
Bristol Bears director of rugby Pat Lam said: “Benjamin is one of the most exciting young talents in the world game.
“His performances for Argentina at the Junior World Cup showcased his talent and I believe he will have the opportunity to further develop his potential at the Bears.
“We know how highly rated he is by Felipe Contepomi and his Argentina coaching team. Benjamin's well-rounded skillset, ability to play across the backline and attacking threat fits the Bears Way perfectly.”
Elizalde said: “I am very happy to have signed with Bristol. I can't wait to start training with the team and to fight for my place.”
