It will be a choice between Harlequins’ Marcus Smith and Northampton’s Fin Smith at fly-half for the first Test against New Zealand in Dunedin in three weeks’ time, following George Ford being ruled out of the tour by injury. I believe that Marcus Smith deserves to start ahead of Premiership title winner Fin, because of his greater international experience.
Marcus Smith’s most recent Tests for England were both off the bench in the last two matches of this year’s Six Nations, and he made a big impact in both.
