Coventry chief executive Nick Johnston says the Championship club remains prepared to drop down to the national leagues if they can’t reach a funding arrangement with the RFU they are fully satisfied with.
Protracted negotiations between the RFU Council and Championship clubs around the make-up of the PGA ended late on Friday with an initial deal.
Heralded by Championship chairman Simon Halliday as “a new era for the professional game in England”, with clarity on the league’s management structure, there are various elements yet to be finalised.
