Steve Borthwick has been blasted for the way he axed a key member of England’s backroom staff.
Jon Clarke was appointed as Eddie Jones’ strength and conditioning coach in 2018 and had hoped to stay in the role when Borthwick took over in December 2022.
Ex-Warrington Wolves hooker Clarke helped the Red Rose to reach the 2019 World Cup final but, when Jones was fired, Borthwick told him he was not needed.
