The ground-breaking new agreement between Twickenham and the Premiership clubs is expected to be announced after next month’s play-off final.
The eight-year deal is expected to be a financial improvement on the one that ends in a few weeks, worth more than £3m to each of the 10 clubs per season, up from £2.2m.
But, unlike the previous agreements, it will amount to more than a handover of cash by the Rugby Football Union for the release of players for England duty outside World Rugby’s official Test windows.
