Exeter are yet to offer loosehead Alec Hepburn, above, who has been named in Scotland’s Six Nations squad, a deal beyond the end of the season.
Hepburn, 30, who won six England caps in 2018, qualifies for Gregor Townsend’s squad through his father after a three-year qualification period and is coming into the six months of his deal with the Chiefs.
Despite Nika Abuladze being out of action until later in the year, Hepburn – who helped Exeter win two Premiership titles and a Champions Cup – could have to look for another club.
