Newcastle Falcons’ newest signing Jordan Holgate says it has been a ‘bittersweet’ experience fulfilling a lifelong dream of playing top-level rugby in the Premiership.
The inside centre is used to bulldozing through defences, but has faced a far tougher test after being left a nomad and staying at his sister’s in London amid Jersey Reds folding in September. He’s still in close contact with a number of ex-Reds, and found the Jersey connection, with several of Falcons’ players and coaches, pivotal at a difficult time.
