Alex Sanderson remains against increasing the Premiership salary cap back up to £6.4 million after his club Sale Sharks and Friday’s opponents Bristol Bears announced combined operating losses of well over £9 million for the last financial year.
Sale Sharks’ operating loss was marginally down from the previous year to £4.37m, despite increasing staff numbers by 21 to 168, while Bristol’s shot up by £1.76 million to £4.94m.
