Mercer ruled out until New Year

GLOUCESTER No.8 Zach Mercer will be out for a “few months” after having an operation on an ankle injury.
Mercer joined Gloucester this season from Montpellier and played in three Premiership games before being forced off early in the defeat by Saracens last month.
“He got caught in a tackle at the beginning of the Saracens game, there were like three people that fell on him at the same time – it’s one of those injuries and he’s going to be out for a few months,” director of rugby George Skivington said.
