NEW Zealand were based in a plush hotel, The Paris Country Club, in Saint-Cloud ahead of the final, bang on the famous racecourse which is home to the Grand Prix de Saint-Cloud, a valuable Group One 1m4f race, that has been won by Lester Piggott, on Teenoso, and Frankie Dettori, on Coronet, in the past. Sadly, there was no racing there on Thursday as the All Blacks announced their team.
