ONE of the constants of England training is Steve Borthwick’s ladder which has travelled all around France with the team. The head coach, who is 6ft 6in, perches himself on top of it to help the three hookers practise their lineout throwing and always looks in danger of toppling off when he catches the ball but never does.
Other staff members are not so fearless as second row Ollie Chessum reported. He said: “I have never seen anyone as good on the ladder.
