CHRIS Preen marked his return from injury by scoring two second half tries as Loughborough University kicked off their campaign with a 27-20 victory over Nottingham at Highfields.
It was Nottingham that scored the first try after 13 minutes as Connor Moyse crossed for a seven-pointer before last season’s league winners hit back with a penalty by Morgan Meredith.
Loughborough overturned the deficit through a lovely finish from Jenson McInulty before the home side went into the interval ahead 12-10 courtesy of Will Bailey’s try.
