French authorities failing spectators

I SEE there continues to be crowd issues at the RWC due to the inadequacies of the French Rugby authorities. It’s been three weeks since the debacle in Marseille where fans were herded up steep steps to be funnelled into gates which were insufficient in numbers for the 60,000-plus spectators. It’s now reported that there were crushing problems as fans tried to get on the metro at Lille. Does it need a life or serious injuries to occur before French authorities wake up to the fact they are failing in their duties of safety to the spectators.
