England squad on £100,000-a-man at World Cup

England's World Cup squad will be paid £100,000-a-man at the World Cup in France this autumn as some of their Welsh counterparts accept pay cuts of up to 70 per cent.
The generosity of the RFU’s payment, irrespective of whether England survive the quarter-finals, will raise eyebrows after a season when almost a quarter of Premiership clubs imploded into a pile of rubble. Already the highest paid in Test rugby on £23,000-a-match, England’s chosen few will be ensured that and more over their four pool games against Japan, Argentina, Samoa and Chile.
