ESSEX kicked off their campaign with a hardfought, tense 29-17 win against Buckinghamshire in east London, with the visitors unfortunate to leave the capital without any points to show for their considerable efforts.
Noah Jarvis, of Amersham and Chiltern, Olney forward Jake Millburn and Callum Liles of Chesham were all on the scoreboard for Buckinghamshire, but they couldn’t quite get the better of a more streetwise, hard-nosed Essex unit.
