Wales are on the verge of banning Joe Hawkins from international selection following an investigation into his transfer from Ospreys to Exeter.
Barring the submission of any new evidence before today’s deadline, the 20-year-old centre will be declared ineligible by the Welsh Rugby Union under their own rule aimed at keeping their best young players in Wales. The Rugby Paper understands that Hawkins will become the first casualty of the contentious 25-cap restriction.
