DORKING were deserved winners at Rochford Hundred, but they were made to work hard for their victory.
The visitors started at a pace, scoring tries through Daniel Riches and Tobermory McRae in the seventh and 13th minutes, both converted by Henry Anscombe.
Anscombe also slotted over a penalty in the tenth minute to put his side 17-0 ahead.
Rochford struck back in the 27th minute with a penalty before hooker Robert Gardner went over for a try in the 32nd minute to make it 17-8 at half-time.
