Gregor Townsend expects his future as Scotland head coach to be decided “soon” after revealing he has held initial talks about staying on beyond the World Cup later this year.
“I have had initial conversations in the last couple of weeks and after taking some time off, over the next two weeks we will probably chat about it in more depth,” he said.
“I have indicated I need some time to reflect.”
Townsend has been in charge of Scotland since the summer of 2017 and has led them to two thirdplace finishes in the Six Nations after yesterday’s win over Italy.
