Altham happy to play what he sees at Fylde

FYLDE front row Pete Altham was diagnosed with deafness aged 18-months but he is not letting his condition stop him from playing the sport he loves.
Altham, below, who wears hearing aids to help, said: “I just play what’s in front of me. It’s all about the visual aspects of the game and that’s why I always say to the players to look at what is in front of you and play with your eyes open.”
Altham, 33, who is a PE teacher at Myerscough College, plays prop but can’t hear refereeing instructions at scrum time.
