Hill calls for big cut in dual registrations

Steve Hill has called for a reduction in the number of dual registration and loan players at Championship clubs, concerned the integrity of the league is under threat.
Exeter’s director of rugby Rob Baxter argued in TRP last week that overhauling the loan system to give Premiership clubs more options and allowing top players returning from injuries to have run-outs in the second tier would boost income and interest.
But Hill, Richmond’s long-serving DoR, disagrees, fearing Championship clubs would come to resemble invitation sides and lose their identity.
