BATH CEO Tarquin McDonald has defended Bath’s signing of Finn Russell as not only being good for the club but good for the Premiership as a whole.
The Scotland star has put pen to paper on a lucrative deal for an undisclosed length of time although Bath insist the money being talked about is not close to seven figures, as has been reported.
Even so, Russell, 30, will arrive at The Rec after next year’s World Cup as the club’s bestpaid player under the marquee ruling, a piece of recruitment that has raised eyebrows given the financial fragility of the Premiership.
