When Alex Cuthbert left Welsh rugby for Exeter in 2018, very few people would have expected to see the big wing represent his country again.
To begin with, he fell 13 caps short of the 60 required to carry on playing for Wales while outside the country but it was deeper than that. Cuthbert had been a prolific finisher having crossed for 16 tries in his first 47 Tests, but he had fallen out of love with the game while the unfair criticism which comes with playing for Wales had taken its toll.
