THE Welsh Rugby Union has banned transgender women from competing in female-only matches.
The move follows similar decisions by the English and Irish unions.
The WRU has amended its policy based on “current medical and scientific evidence” and in line with World Rugby guidance.
In July, World Rugby became the first international sports federation to say transgender women cannot compete at the elite or international level of the women’s game.
