It’s time for WRU and the clubs to sort this mess out

The United Rugby Championship kicks off this coming weekend and I sincerely hope the campaigns of the four Welsh clubs aren’t undermined by boardroom politics.
Last Sunday TRP broke the story that the Welsh Rugby Union was prepared to offer a six-year financial package to its professional sides of over £30m.
That looks attractive from the outside, but the same report also said the WRU required the regional benefactors to return to act as guarantors. Now, I’m not going to pretend to be an expert on economics, but it looks as if a whole new can of worms...
