EXETER Chiefs are busy trying to sort out an emergency visa that will allow back row Jacques Vermeulen to return to the West Country after he was left stranded in South Africa.
Vermeulen, 27, who joined the Chiefs in 2019 from the Sharks, was hoping to start his fourth season at Sandy Park against champions Leicester Tigers yesterday afternoon.
The former Junior Springbok needed to return home to South Africa to renew his passport and left the documents in his car outside his home when disaster struck.
