Premier 15s side DMP Durham Sharks are in danger of having to pull out of next season’s competition due to a “shortfall” in funding.
The Sharks have launched a crowdfunding bid, asking for help with “the basic running costs required to compete in the league this season” and to “keep women’s elite rugby alive in the North East”.
The RFU says it is working with the Sharks “to attain a suitable outcome” ahead of the Premier 15s season that starts on November 19 after the World Cup has concluded.
