FREDDIE Burns revealed he had “an outer-body experience” of ecstasy and joy after nailing the drop-goal which made him Leicester’s unlikely Twickenham hero.
The 32-year-old replacement stepped up to the plate to earn the club a first Premiership crown in nine years with the decisive moment just 24 seconds from the end of a pulsating final.
Fly-half Burns, who left Welford Road five years ago only to return last summer after a short spell in Japanese club rugby, flew onto the scene to be the match-winner when George Ford went off injured after 22 minutes.
