TV rights could boom after BT Sport merger

PREMIERSHIP Rugby could land a massive cash windfall in their next round of television rights bidding after BT Sport announced a £540m merger with Warner Bros Discovery.
The plans are for BT Sport to merge with Eurosport and launch a bid to threaten Sky Sports’ dominance of the UK sports rights market.
Premiership Rugby’s 80 live games a season deal worth £112 million runs until 2024 and was worth £8million less than their previous deal.
