Thomas to state his case for defence

EXETER Chiefs are likely to promote from within to replace defence coach Julian Salvi who left Sandy Park at the end of last month.
The Chiefs have conceded 55 tries in 22 league games this season, and their hopes for a top-four finish and a seventh consecutive Premiership final are hanging by a thread.
Former flanker Salvi, who helped the Chiefs win their first Premiership title in 2017 before retiring and moving onto the coaching staff a year later, has been replaced by Haydn Thomas for the remainder of the season.
