All of a sudden it feels as though the game of rugby is getting more and more global. The route for me when I was playing was always going to be from my village side to a first-class club if I was good enough. From Amman United I was picked up by Neath and then got selected for Wales. Then regional rugby came along and the week-toweek fixtures began to encompass trips to Ireland and Scotland – along with some wonderful adventures in Europe.
The World Cup, British & Irish Lions trips and summer tours took us to the traditional heartlands...
