It was good to see Nigel Walker recruit John Alder last week to bolster his highperformance department. Alder has been brought in to take charge of player development and it is a timely appointment.
Since Walker arrived at the Union from the English Institute of Sport he has dramatically altered the shape of the women’s game in Wales and now he is turning his attention to the men’s game. Connecting up the many strands of our game to create an even better pathway for the players is essential.
