BACK in the day, when England were at the cutting edge of sports science and spending eye-watering amounts of money on technical expertise, a “visual awareness specialist” was hit on the head by a ball during a training session. “Didn’t see THAT one coming, did you?” shouted one of the players, through tears of laughter.
