Highly rated Harlequins opensie flanker Luke Wallace has signed a two-year contract extension that will keep him with the Premiership champions until the end of the 2014/2015 season.
The 22-year-old burst on the Premiership scene last season as an out-and-out openside to position himself as a serious contender for both the Harlequins and England No.7 jersey currently held by his teammate and England captain Chris Robshaw.
Wallace made 30 appearances for Quins since making his senior debut last season and was shortlisted for the LV= ‘Breakthrough’ and Land Rover ‘Discovery of the Season’ awards.
Harlequins’ Director of Rugby Conor O’Shea said: “It is hard for young players to secure a regular place in the first team. Luke has made that breakthrough and is really pushing hard to start week in, week out. No doubt his drive will make for some fascinating selections in the coming years and his re-signing shows his loyalty and commitment to the club he has grown up with.”
