Toulon president Bernard Lemaitre pulled something of a recruitment rabbit out of his hat this week, as he confirmed current Lyon manager Pierre Mignoni would become the club’s director of rugby next season.
Mignoni has signed a four-year deal to return to the club where he started and ended his playing career, and where he started out as a coach. He will form a super-coaching group with Franck Azema – who has extended his own stay at Stade Mayol through to 2026.
It was much-needed good news for the club’s embattled president.
