WAYNE Barnes, admirably true to form, set a shining example of how referees ought to react when players confront them with foul language. He gave Tolu Latu a second yellow card which meant Stade Francais had to qualify for the Champions Cup last 16 without their Australia Test hooker.
 Frank Murphy, a Heineken Cup finalist as Leicester’s scrumhalf in 2007, penalised a Montpellier forward for the same offence when the Irishman would have been fully justified in binning him.
