Liddell’s values honoured by SRU

ON A sharp New Year morning at his farm in the Borders, John Jeffrey switched off the engine of his tractor in honour of a fellow Scot, the only one whose life inspired an Oscar-winning film.
Eric Liddell, immortalised as a central figure in Chariots of Fire, had just been inducted into the Hall of Fame at Murrayfield in a ceremony to mark the centenary of his debut for Scotland. Why had it taken them so long to recognise one of the truly great Christian sports people?
