THE right to vote is a deadly serious matter, but that doesn’t mean it’s not good for a laugh: how else would Ann Widdecombe have survived nine rounds of Strictly, or Alexander Boris de Pfeffel Johnson been handed the keys to No 10?
So it is that we read the results of a major website poll designed to identify the finest players in rugby history, position by position. And what do we find as we cast our eye over the runners and riders? Comedy gold.
Apparently, there are people out there who think Sonny Bill Williams was a better midfielder than Tim Horan or Philippe Sella.
