BRISTOL Bears have turned down a request from the Covid-marooned Scarlets to postpone next Saturday’s Champions’ Cup tie at Ashton Gate.
It left the Welsh region facing the grim reality of forfeiting the match or turning up with a squad out of condition after ten days in quarantine limited to brief exercise in the car park of their Belfast hotel.
“We had a conversation with the Scarlets yesterday and it was agreed that we could not find another date in the calendar to rearrange the match,’’ Bristol chief executive Mark Tainton told The Rugby Paper.
