DAN Leo says World Rugby’s landmark decision to allow players to swap allegiance is a step in the right direction but believes a three-year stand down to be too long.
Leo hopes Mako Vunipola will play for Tonga, but the England man would have to wait until after the 2023 World Cup. Vunipola, 31 in January, has been out of favour with Eddie Jones since winning the last of his 67 caps against Ireland back in March.
The Saracens forward is out of contract at the end of this season and is a target for French clubs.
