HAVANT RFC paid their respects to late President Nigel Campkin before their match against North Walsham yesterday, after he passed away last month at the age of 59.
A key figure behind the Hills’ revival at Hooks Lane, where their First XV team are aiming for promotion to the National League, Campkin had been battling illness before suffering a stroke last month.
“Nigel had a battle with cancer which he seemed to be in recovery from and then he had a mini-stroke about two weeks ago that left him in ICU,” Havant director Alan Newton said. ...
