Sevens U-turn as O’Shea seeks alignment

THE RFU has performed a U-turn and will reinstate its full-time Sevens programme for the start of the 2022 World Series.
According to the Daily Telegraph, the RFU are set to introduce gender-pay parity, as was the case with Team GB Sevens sides at the Tokyo Games.
RFU director of performance Conor O’Shea said: “When I first came in we decided we would align to the pathway again, so there is an ability to develop players not just to be competitive in Sevens but to come through and play XVs.
