LEICESTER Tigers are hoping to bring former England and Lions second row George Kruis back to the Premiership next season.
Kruis, 31, has spent the last year playing in Japan for the Saitama Wild Knights following a trophy-laden 11 seasons with Saracens.
A member of the 2017 Lions squad that toured New Zealand, he has said he still has ambitions to add to his 45 England caps.
Kruis moved to the Wild Knights, who are based in the Tokyo suburbs on a year deal. But they were so impressed they extended his contract by another year.
He helped the Wild Knights win the Top League title by beating Beauden Barrett and Eddie Jones‘ Suntory Sungoliath.
The Tigers have been quick to sound out Kruis about his plans for 2022-2023, which would give him a shot at England’s World Cup squad.
