The Lions were left to taste defeat again in South Africa

THIS was a series that the 2021 Lions let slip at the last.
The spike that they became hooked on was not so much the penalty two minutes from time by Morne Steyn that gave the Springboks a sliver of a series victory again, but the tourists’ inability to put away two gilt-edged tryscoring chances just before the half-hour in a first half they mostly dominated.
The first came from a two-on-one when Liam Williams stepped inside with the chance to put Josh Adams in the clear outside him in the 26th minute, and then another opportunity was wasted only a minute later when Tom Curry’s illegal clea...
